FTF file with alpha version Jelly Bean for Sony XPERIA T

Hi everybody, DoomLord said me to publish it, so go on. Here is working FTF file with official alpha version of Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean provided by Sony. To flash this FTF file, you need latest Flashtool (not from Sony, but from Androxyde :)) and you also need unlocked bootloader on your phone. When you try to install it on locked bootloader, your phone will not start (i try it by myself on my device)...

Hello everyone this is my rom thread eventually i hope to have a collection of stock based and cm based roms here :)

I AM IN NO WAY RESPOSIBLE IF THIS MESS UP PHONE!
It wont but just incase :P

Also i havent tested on UB so sorry if it doesnt work correctly for whatever reason

[LT30p][ROOT] For Official JellyBean FW 9.1.A.0.489 {UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER ONLY}

Root for Unlocked Bootloaders ONLY


you can flash any FTF of Official JellyBean FW 9.1.A.0.489...


1) download SuperSU and place the file on SDCARD

2) download my advanced stock kernel and flash it using fastboot

3) boot into recovery and flash SuperSU update.zip

4) reboot device


now u can flash the kernel.sin from the FTF either using flashtool or using fastboot



You might also want to install busybox... Just go to market and download busybox installer (https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ricson.busybox) and after downloading app select /system/xbin/ as location to install busybox...

I has just tested it on my TX, but it maybe can be used for T & V too. I don't know. You do this on your own, don't blame me.

Thanks for everyone who developed the method for Xperia S, Darkfunnyguy for provide his method, thebodom for files, and anyone who tested in their devices.

YOU MUST HAVE UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER, ROOTED BEFORE DO THIS.

1.Turn on your phone.

2.Clear data for Download Music Info and all Walkman apps, under settings>apps>all

3.With Root Explorer or any root manager, copy CredentialManagerService.apk from the file you download your SD card.

4.Copy that apk from SD card to /system folder

5.Change permissions to rw-r-r

6.Move that CredentialManagerService.apk in /system folder and paste in /system/app

7.Delete .odex file for CredentialManagerService if you're on a odexed stock ROM.

8.Shutdown and flash stock kernel with Flashtool using the kernel from the FTF file of the Firmware you
are currently using by downloading the ftf file below, be sure to not wipe Data(you will loose apps)
and System(you will loose root. Uncheck wipe data and check Exclude System.

9.Relock your bootloader by downloading the FTF file below. Turn on your device.

10. Turn on Video and enjoy. If you have auto-reboot everytime you go to root explorer, JUST FLASH FULL FIRMWARE AGAIN, it won't take your bravia away.

[RECOVERY][TWRP&CWM][Updated: 6-Feb-2013]Stock Kernel on Official Jellybean

This kernel image is based on stock using the FreeXperia ramdisk method of loading stock and recovery. It also includes the new FOTA partition trick by Dees_Troy for easy updates in the future to TWRP.

Dees_Troy and I worked on figuring out the reason recovery binaries would not load on the stock kernel without patches, fixed this up in bionic, and rebuilt recovery linked against the fixed bionic.

F.A.Q

Q. The title says TWRP and CWM but when I boot recovery I only see TWRP. How do I get CWM?
A. TWRP is the default recovery, if you want CWM you should download the CWM update.zip in the second post and flash it with twrp.

Technical Info

In 3.4 Qualcomm have changed the fb_var_screeninfo struct slightly. They have added an extra field called colorspace which increases the size of the stuct by __u32. When a binary linked against bionic tries to pass a struct the size of the old fb_var_screeninfo to kernelspace the application breaks as the kernel is expecting more data than it was given.

The patch to fix this in kernel solves the problem by removing one of the reserved fields, bringing the struct back to the same size it was prior to the new field being added. While this keeps compatibility with older recovery binaries, it does introduce the problem of needing a custom kernel to run recovery. Sony have not yet released source for 9.1.A.0.489 which means the kernel cannot be rebuilt without issues such as WiFi not working. The patch that Dees_Troy applied to the build system was to add the new colorspace field into the header for bionic which means the new recovery binary can run on an unmodified stock Sony kernel.

I've finally gotton around to build my own rom!
I've tried my share of roms, but they were never how I wanted them to be.
so I decided to build my own rom.

I Build it with Dsixda's Android Kitchen, for now it is only for Unlocked bootloaders, but i am working on a locked bootloader version too.
It is based on "Xperia T T-Mobile skyfall NL 9.1.A.0.489 (4.1.2 Jellybean)"

Hope you all like it so far!

Features:
 

DE-ODEXED
Removed some Bloatware
moved some apps wich I consider bloatware but others might not (facebook etc), to /data for easy removal
altered T-mobile bootanim so it will show original Sony bootanim.
removed T-mobile shutdownanimation
zipalign on boot
build.prop tweaks
SU rebootfix included
WIFI mac fix included
ROOT (Superuser by ChainsDD and Busybox 1.20.2)
unplugchargerreminder removed
no adb notification/icon
init.d support based on the works of Ryuinferno
Google Maps deleted, it gives a LOT of wake locks, you can download it from market if you want it.
updated some apps (e.g. google play, gmail)
added adobe flash player as system app

x--cwm for locked bootloader included (only in locked bootloader version)--x

in appdrawer there are a few grey square's
you can get rid of them by accessing menu (three dots top right), choosing uninstall and uninstall them.
the ones on home screen can be dragged away

WARNING:
(SMART) UPDATER SCRIPT
CAREFULL
This ROM WILL WIPE /DATA if you are NOT on a .489 (based) rom.
This ROM WILL NOT WIPE /DATA if you are on a .489 (based) rom.
If you format /system prior to flashing, this rom WILL format /data
Cache/Dalvik Cache always wipes, so you won't have to do this yourself
Build.prop: ro.build.id=9.1.A.0.489 <- this is the line the rom looks at.

Basic flashing instructions:
 

1. Flash random stock .303 FTF with flashtool(TL users: If you flash T rom exclude baseband!)(*)
2. Root with Bin4ry's method(*)
3. Install CWM for locked bootloaders.(*)
step 1 - 3 not available for Locked Bootloaders YET!
4. Make a backup with nandroid and/or titanium backup.
5. Go to recovery and Flash ROM.
6. Locked bootloader: On reboot it will ask: "ROM may flash stock recovery on boot. fix?", choose "No".
7. Enjoy

(*) skip these steps if you're already on a ROM with CWM recovery or unlocked bootlader.

FOR OVERCLOCKING
  1. start SetCPU/NoFrills CPU Control app on ur phone (or any other app which supports overclocking) (u may get a popup asking for SuperUser permissions, click ok/yes/allow)
  2. now slowly increase the MAX slider to the right (one notch at a time) to increase the maximum frequency limit
  3. DO NOT JUMP TO THE LAST POSSIBLE FREQUENCY
  4. SLOWLY increase the frequency one notch at a time and do stability/testing for few hours

[STOCK] LT30p Stock+Rooted 9.1.A.0.489 flashable in CWM

I know TiMiN8R made a Stock Rooted Deodexed rom for everyone but some people asked for just a Stock rom that wasn't deodexed so that's what I have made here. This is a stock firmware with only root added. Please note the kernel and CWM are not packed into this rom (though the reboot fix is) Please read the note at the bottom regarding bootloop issues.

Installation for Unlocked Bootloader

* Make a backup - Always backup just in case you ****up (Data backed up through Sony's Backup & Restore app can be restored without issue)
* Flash any kernel you want to use that has built in recovery.
* Enter recovery
* Factory reset
* Flash rom.


Installation for Locked Bootloader

* Make a backup - Always backup just in case you ****up (Data backed up through Sony's Backup & Restore app can be restored without issue)
* Use flashtool to flash any generic ftf that can be rooted using Bin4ry's method. If you are already on a LT30 ICS/JB firmware that is rooted you can ignore this step.
* Root using Bin4ry's method.
* Install CWM for Xperia T Locked bootloaders
* Enter recovery, factory reset and flash the ROM.
* Flash the stock ftf (same version as the rom used ftf available in my signature) in Flashtool but uncheck Wipe Data, Wipe Cache, Wipe app Log. Also exclude everything except for Kernel. (This is needed to update the Kernel to the latest stock version otherwise you may get a bootloop.)

**Keep LTE**

If you have a LT30at or LT30a and would like LTE with the LT30p rom then once you have flashed the above go back into Flashtool and flash the latest LT30at or LT30a ftf. UNCHECK Wipe Data, Wipe Cache, Wipe app Log, and exclude everything EXCEPT for baseband. This should put LTE support back on the phone but keep the LT30p system.

*If you started on a rooted LT30at or LT30a firmware and flashed this rom straight from that you do not have to reflash the baseband as it is not overwritten by this rom.

You will need to reinstall CWM after flashing this rom if you want it. CWM is not baked into this rom.

**NOTE**

If going from ICS to JB you will get a bootloop after flashing and rebooting phone. Hold the power and Volume up button until the phone vibrates three times (simulated pulling of battery for non-removable batteries). You can then flash the JB kernel through flashtools to fix the bootloop.

[ROM][TX][STOCK] 7.0.A.3.212_Rooted

Hello Guys...This is a stock rooted (CF SuperSU) with busybox rom for LT29i.

The Rom is pretty stock. Only modifications were to root and zipalign the rom. As there are not loads of stock roms in .zip for the TX i though i'd give it a go for those who want a stock rooted rom

Installation Instuctions:

1) Downgrade to ealiest 1.307 Rom by flashing an FTF (Obivously backup anything first) through flashtool
2) Root using Bin4ry's method
3) Flash CWM for Locked Bootloader (am using a version 6.0..x.x)
4) Install Zip from SD Card my Rom you downloaded from CWM
5) Install Zip from SD Card a flashable version of CWM
6)Flash This after flashing rom otherwise your phone will keep rebooting if you try to edit system files (Thanks to Sharaz22 for this link and Leo for reporting the issue and solution)
7) Flash a 3.212 FTF through Flashtool again (exclude everthing except kernel). This will get you back to latest kernel

Ok requirements:-

Root
Existing recovery/or copy of hacked chargemon

This is just the right files tarred up, if you have existing recovery just drop this is /system/bin

Or if you usually install from pc, just replace recovery.tar

If you usually flash a zip, just replace the recovery.tar

If you backup up your existing recovery.tar you can switch whenever.

Tested and confirmed:-
Backup
Restore
Flash zips
Wipes


If you want to wipe system, go to settings and switch to rm -fr option.

Scripts are not supported. No root in kernel.
To access TWRP - press logo "SONY" when the pink led appears
To access CWM - press logo "SONY" when the red led appears (it's after pink one)

Stock LT29i_1266-6178/LT29i:4.1.2/9.1.B.0.411 flasable with clockwork recovery.

Please,flash it at your own risk. If you do decide to flash it please back up your current rom before installing this one.

This rom is deodexed, rooted, busybox installed and zipaligned.

After flashing this rom you will have to re-flash CWM recovery.(or you can modify updater script to preserve recovery after flash - i didn't really feel like doing it) - sorry.

I flashed this over my stock rom without full wipe and found no issues. stock over stock.

If you do find any issues please don't blame me for it.

hello guys,

since i was getting numerous requests for creating DooMKernel for this device, and since i had some free time, i am posting test kernels here...

i dont have the device with me so you guys will have to do testing and report back...



features will be same as DooMKernel v04 for Xperia T

PLEASE READ THE ABOVE THREAD FOR DETAILS OF FEATURES AND HOW TO USE THEM!



[ NOTICE ]

for now the kernel is built using ported sources thanks to championswimmer... i have added the correct stock ramdisk (firmware: 9.1.B.0.411)... also i am using CWM & TWRP built for the Xperia T...

so i dont know how this will work...

generally cross-flashing kernel is not recommended but we need to test out how this goes since we dont have official sources from Sony...

This is just a stock JB kernel (from the latest firmware Xperia T 9.1.A.1.140 Generic Europe) packed with TWRP 2.5.0.0.

Tested on my XT stock based JB rom and it works smoothly.

This Rom is based on Rogers 9.1.A.0.489.ftf_Canada

quick note;
I fixed CWM so no more hitting no to install CWM before rebooting the phone, it just installs with the rom.


I would first like to say I'm no dev, I just used dsixda's kitchen to put this all together. So my first Thanks goes to dsixda for such an awesome tool!

Special thanks to, TiMiN8R, gregbradley, Spectre51 on how to use the kitchen, plus all other devs here at XDA that have helpped me over the years.



  • The rom is based on rogers latest Jelly Bean update - .489
  • I made this rom for all LT30a user's, LTE APN's for rogers are included.
  • Rom is and will be optomized for users in canada that have a locked bootloader, might work on other phones. If your brave you can test and report back.

    It turns out that the reduced size button mod is actually the cause of the picture effect fc. I don't know how to fix that and I personally don't care for it too much so I'll leave it as is until there's a solution. If someone really wants/needs the picture effect you can flash the original framework-res.apk but you lose the reduced size buttons.

Introduction:
This is reduced Xperia T rom, with added CM10 apps and other features or improvements.
Made on my own unlocked Xperia T, running DooMKernel. It was built for smoothness, performance and minimum issues.

But still, it's not perfect and never will be. ;)

I am not responsible for any injuries, software or hardware damage or not working emergency calling. You don't have to use this.

If I am posting something I should not, tell me and I will delete it. I am just sharing this, because it´s good for me and could be good for someone else.

If anything does not work right after installation, do one more restart please.
